Year 6 Design & Technology

Year 6 Design & Technology

This term Year 6 have developed how to program and control an electrical controller. Using the Cumble kit, they have connected LEDs, ultra-sonic sensors, buzzers and and LED matrix to create a fully-working parking sensor. They’ve learnt how to create multiple conditions in their code, programming the controller to flash the LEDs and activate the buzzer as their circuit moves closer to an obstacle. They’ve used IF statements to program their code to increase the urgency of the buzzer and lights, mimicking the parking sensors built into many modern vehicles.

The Year 6 pupils have all shown tremendous confidence and skill with this work, solving problems and developing their own solutions to their design brief.
