Year 6 National Portrait Gallery
Year 6 had the opportunity to visit the National Portrait Gallery this month for a self-portrait workshop. On this trip the children were part of a workshop which involved studying different portraits and learning all about how the artists went about creating them. We then analysed the portraits and discussed the various points in history from which they were from.
Finally the children had the opportunity to draw themselves in the style of one of the artists studied. These included Lowry.
All in all it was a very enjoyable and informative trip and the children demonstrated a real appreciation for art.
A big thank you also goes to all the parents who accompanied us on the trip; we could not do all these trips without your continued support.
