Year 5 Geography – Population and Settlements

Year 5 Geography – Population and Settlements

This half term in geography we have been learning about population and settlement. We compared different countries and their density, for example India has more young children than middle aged adults. Also, we compared places like Singapore and looked at what it looked like in 1990 to now. As a class we learned that cities like London get more people moving in everyday for the new jobs and opportunities. As a result of all the different opportunities, developers are building new flats, houses, and accommodation every day, which leads to more empty spaces getting filled with buildings. Fortunately however, London has lots of green spaces and hopefully it will stay that way.
