Year 5 First Aid Workshop

Year 5 First Aid Workshop

“Today, I learned about the ways to help people who need medical assistance. First, our guide Martin showed us how to perform CPR on a person. We used some life-sized dummies to practice on, pumping their chest 30 times! It was really fun! Secondly, Martin taught us how to help a person who is chocking. He had a yellow jacket and there was a button on the front. Martin gently demonstrated the heimlich manoeuvre on a child and he pressed the button and a piece of plastic, representing the food, shot out! Lastly, he taught us all some techniques on how to heal and take care of severe burns and wounds. Overall, I had a great time, and these tactics were really useful.”
