The Prodigal Son and The Lost Sheep Parables

Year 3 enjoyed the story of the Prodigal Son in their Parable Workshop. The children retold the story of the Prodigal Son, each taking on the role of different characters. We learned about how actions can affect other people and how a parent’s love is stronger than any. Each class then took a trip down conscious alley each giving a reason from both sides of the story.

Year 4 were visited by a volunteer who taught them about parables and the impact that they can have on daily life. The parable was based on ‘The Lost Sheep’ and children were shown this story and questioned about the morals of the story. The children were able to reflect on their lives and share stories about how they have helped others in the past and also how they can continue to help those in need. A range of new vocabulary was taught to the children and they responded incredibly well to some extremely challenging questions.
