The Big Read

The Big Read

Over the summer we had a number of children take part in the Redbridge libraries reading challenge which required them to read regularly over the summer holiday and show the library all the amazing reading that they had done. It is so vital that children continue to read during the holidays and develop that love of reading. There will be children who read a lot over the summer who didn’t take part in the challenge so a big thank you to them, and all the parents who encouraged lots of reading over the summer holidays.

From Mr Warmoth

“I took part in the Reading Challenge organised by Redbridge libraries.

I visited South Woodford library most weeks and I read 24 books in total. My favourite book was Captain Underpants and Sir Stinks A Lot. I would recommend the book and it made me laugh out loud.

Ms Emeny awarded me with a ‘head teacher’s’ award for all my reading, and I feel proud of my achievement.”
