Mrs Needleman
I want to become a governor because I believe deeply in the power of education to shape individual futures and foster a more just and inclusive society. This belief underpins my work as Legal Director of a human rights organisation and has guided my extensive pro bono work during my time in private practice. I now want to give back to my community by volunteering in a vital area where I can apply the skills I’ve developed throughout my legal career to support children’s
development and wellbeing.
Through my work on school exclusions and the criminal justice system, I’ve seen how profoundly education influences life chances, particularly for the most vulnerable. As a mother of two, one of whom is school-aged, I also witness daily the transformative role schools play in nurturing confidence, curiosity, and resilience. I’m committed to helping create an environment where all pupils can thrive, regardless of background.
While I regularly engage with boards in my professional role, joining a school governing body offers a valuable opportunity to broaden my experience and contribute directly to strategic leadership in education.
I declare, I or my relatives have no pecuniary or business interests.
