Following recent retirement from the NHS, I decided that I still had a lot to give in the world of work. I considered other roles such as CQC inspectors, NHS Trusts Governor role. However, my thinking came down in favour of a school governor position. I believe that I have the knowledge, skills and expertise to fulfil the requirements of the role. My vast experience in mental health work positions me well in supporting the schools with the rising emotional wellbeing, and safeguarding issues that sadly pervades many schools. I also have board and senior leadership experience which, I believe would be necessary for the role of school governor. Finally, the part-time nature of the role is attractive.

I declare, I or my relatives have no pecuniary or business interests.
