Self Assessment – Design and Technology

Self assessment sheets detail the learning objectives that are taught within each given unit and subject. These objectives are separated into those required to meet the Expected Standard and those necessary to meet the Higher Standard. Separating the objectives in this way enables pupils to clearly identify what it is that they need to know in order to meet the expected or higher standard in each unit.

Key vocabulary relevant to each unit is also included in order to promote the use of Tier 3 vocabulary across the curriculum.

Assessment in Design and Technology follows a prescribed process of delivery

Self assessment booklets are printed for the whole year and contain all subjects without a written exercise book. Under ‘Self’, Pupils assess whether they feel they are working towards (), have met () or have exceeded () an objective.

Teachers provide their own assessment by ticking the relevant box under ‘Teacher Assessment’.
