Pupil Leadership – School Council Assembly

Pupil Leadership – School Council Assembly

From two participants of the assembly:

“In our School Council assembly, we discussed democracy, parliament week and voting. My speech was about the 2019 general election.”

By Nevaeh, Year 5

“In our School Council assembly, we discussed democracy and representations of Parliament, the eligible voters, how elections work and Parliament Week. It was thrilling to discuss these topics with the rest of the school.”

By Hamza, Year 5

From someone who watched the assembly:

“The School Council assembly this year was very informative. I was part of the School Council last year, but I feel this year’s assembly was even better than mine! I learnt that in the last three general elections, 30% of adults did not vote. We (the whole school), discussed Iain Duncan-Smith, our local MP, and we learnt that the borders of some constituencies are going change for the next election. The assembly was excellent and I enjoyed it very much!”
