Royal Albert Hall Performance
On the 13th March 2023, the Churchfields Choir performed at the Redbridge Choral Festival held at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. The children have been working extremely hard over the past few terms to learn 13 exciting songs and they absolutely smashed the performance! Due to their excellent work in choir practice, Churchfields was selected by the Redbridge Music Service to stand right at the front of the venue, making them the central focus of the performance. All the students were well attired in their smart uniforms and ensured that they learnt all the lyrics to the songs. This was a superb representation of Churchfields Junior School as everyone was well prepared and confident. To further make Churchfields proud, everyone was blown away by Lilliana Kapinos, who was selected out of all the other primary schools in Redbridge to sing the solo in ‘Sing’ by Gary Barlow and The Commonwealth Band. She was pitch-perfect and sang it beautifully. Well done Lilliana!
The performance took the audience on a journey, running through the history of Redbridge in chronological order, highlighting big historical events like the Queen’s Jubilee, the 2012 Olympics, the Queen’s death, and King’s coronation. There was a mix of musical theatre, choral singing, orchestral performance, and dance. The cornet students also shared light on Churchfields’ brilliance as they performed a beautiful, jubilant song with the Redbridge brass band. It was so lovely to see so many Churchfields Junior School pupils take part.
A massive well done to all the Churchfields Junior School pupils who absolutely rocked the Redbridge Choral Festival, you have made us all so proud!
