School Council visit Houses of Parliament

On 16 June Years 5 and 6 School Council went to the Houses of Parliament. Upon arrival everyone had to pass through strict security, before going to a virtual House of Commons. They couldn’t go to the actual Commons as David Cameron was taking questions, but we did meet our MP the Rt. Hon. Iain Duncan-Smith and the pupils asked him lots of challenging questions.

Next they went to the House of Lords where were talking about the EU referendum. Finally they went to the hall where William the Conqueror’s son held banquets and that was the only part of the Houses of Parliament that didn’t burn down.
