Athelites

Who We Are

We are a group of active and agile Athelites. Our role is to keep the school up-to-date with sporting achievements and create new sporting initiaties.

What We Do

We meet once a week to plan different sporting events and occasions, teamed with making new activities for PE lessons. We discuss historical sporting events and great sporting moments and the importance of physical education at our school to create future sports stars and a healthy population. As Athelites we are striving to be fitter and stronger and we collaborate with each other to encourage this idea in the rest of the school.

Make a Difference

  • We organise table tennis games at break times to encourage physical activity.
  • We are Sports Day Leaders, helping with marshalling and equipment.
  • We run fundrasiers such as the Goalathon and Bike Challenge.
  • We support other pupil groups with health and lifestyle activities.
  • We develop new circuit training routines and lead activities in PE lessons to improve fitness, technique and skill and suggest the strategies to be used in competition.
  • We motivate and set a good example by performing reliably under pressure and encouraging our team-mates.
