Year 5 inspired at the National Gallery
As part of their studies in art, Year 5 were lucky enough to go on a fantastic trip to the National Gallery. An expert tour guide led the children around the gallery showing them the different paintings. The guide focussed on three paintings in particular, getting the children to comment on the colours used and the story behind the image created. Year 5 looked at how artists can use different techniques to give paintings certain perspectives. As well as admiring and appreciating the art, the children also got a history lesson! This showed them how paintings are there to tell a story of the past.
The art gallery was good because it showed the different artists expressing themselves and telling different stories about the world
