Year 4 at the Ballet
Following the introduction of ballet on to the P.E. curriculum this term, Year 4 were lucky enough to go to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden to see the Royal Ballet perform Coppelia; a ballet in three acts.
The Royal Opera House has stood since 1728 and was twice destroyed by fire. The current Royal Opera House was built in 1858, taking on its current name in 1892.
Ballet is a very special way of telling a story with everything on stage using music, movement, sets, costumes and props. They even left the curtain up in the interval so we could see the scenery and props being changed!
