Year 3 Natural History Museum
As part of our learning in Year 3, we visited the Natural History Museum for Science and Geography. When we arrived we were met by the big blue whale skeleton in the entrance way.
After we’d settled ourselves in, we started exploring different rocks and fossils to link with our Science unit. We then had a workshop with Mary Anning. She told us all about her life and the fossils she found. It inspired some of us to want to take a trip to Lyme Regis and find some fossils of our own!
Then we were able to learn more about volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis.
There were lots of different things for us to interact with, such as videos, simulators and models. It was interesting to learn more about the links between these three natural disasters.
