The Big Pedal Challenge

The Big Pedal

The Big Pedal Challenge

This week at Churchfields Junior School we have been celebrating sustainable travel by taking part in The Big Pedal Challenge. The Big Pedal is an inter-cycling competition, where schools compete to see how many pupils, staff and parents can come to school on a bike or scooter to raise awareness of sustainable travel.

This week has been a wonderful success with children across all year groups coming into school on their bikes and scooters.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all parents and children for making a huge effort in taking part, it has been great to see the bike shelters so full! Hopefully with summer on its way we will see more of you on your bike and scooters.

Do you have any suggestions for the Junior Travel Ambassadors (JTA) on future events that could raise awareness on similar issues?

There is a suggestion box in the office and we would like to hear any thoughts on the Big Pedal and ideas you have for the future.

Many thanks,
