Record numbers compete in challenging cross country coompetition

Record numbers compete in challenging cross country competition

Sixty excited children were ready to do battle with mud, sticks, puddles, rain and the tricky course over at Wanstead Park; perfect conditions!

We were drawn against seven other schools who arrived to compete against our strong team who have been training hard throughout this term for the competition. In total there were just over 100 athletes competing in each race. The course involved the teams winding their way through dense woodland, swan filled lakes and steep inclines. On the tough final bend and the gruelling long run uphill home the blue t shirts were in sight and Taylan Kilinc* finished in an incredible 1st place, Harrison O’Connor 3rd*, Jonathan Crossley 4th*, James Milne 8th* and James Woolsgrove 9th*. Kerim Kilinc 13th, Harold William 17th, Tristan Thomas Dace 18th, Danial Mahile 19th and Henry Ashman 20th. The girls race was just as exciting as Sephora Abdulali was 2nd*, Eliza House 4th*, Ella Brynes 12th, Erin Thompson 13th, Mabelle Butcher 14th and Grace Timothy 25th.

Thank you to all of the children for their impeccable behaviour, encouragement of one another, and to the fantastic support and photographs from the parents. The children with stars against their names have been chosen to represent Redbridge at the London Youth Games at Parliament Hill on Saturday 18th November.
