Assembly learning about the upcoming elections for the London Mayor
We were delighted to be joined by Mr Simon Woolley, the Board Member for the Children’s Commission and former Commissioner for Equality and Human Rights for a whole school assembly on Democracy in Action. Simon introduced the London Mayor’s Election using our own students as example candidates. The children were immediately enthused competing foe the post of Junior Mayor. The winning slogan of “Vote for me because I will ensure you never get a punishment”, proved to be the most popular and persuasive. David Osei was duly elected as our Junior Mayor. It was great to see so much involvement and keen participation from all the children.
