Heart Dissection in Year 6
This month, all children in Year 6 had the opportunity to participate in heart dissection workshops. Led by a specialist, the children worked in small groups to dissect a lamb’s heart. Working carefully, most groups were eventually able to identify the four chambers of the heart as well as locate some key blood vessels, including the aorta.
During lessons, all classes have shown great enthusiasm for learning about circulation and the enriching workshops gave the children an opportunity to apply their knowledge to real life!
I was surprised by how delicate the heart strings were. It was amazing!
